Museorama
was created on the basis of an observation,
a conviction and a passion
Museorama’s founders, Ivan Tatardand Fabrice Hubin,
were initially led by curiosity. The kind of passionate
curiosity which makes people interested in everything. Everything
rare, beautiful, original and unusual, especially when it
derives from Man and has spanned History.
The world of French museums was therefore part of this passion.
Observing the great heterogeneity and innumerable particularities
of a few thousand French museums, and deploring how difficult
most of them found it to publicize themselves, the conviction
grew that access needed to be made easier.
From the most prestigious to the most unusual, from the
grandest to the most modest, from the best known to the
most isolated; they all deserve to be at least clearly identified
by their potential visitors, from France and abroad, for
whom interest in the riches and diversion of French museums
continues to grow.
Added to these convictions is the more innate idea that
the more people share knowledge and a taste for the exceptional,
the more they become aware of what they are capable of and
the more they respect themselves and others.
The creation of Museorama
was therefore strongly influenced by some fundamental ideas
•The active desire to make accessing
the variety of riches and curiosities which make up the
country’s cultural heritage easier for everyone
•The wish to include all French museums without judging
the museums themselves or their content (but allowing visitors
to give their opinions on exhibitions).
•The need to make identification of and access to all
museums easier, whatever their reputation, size and means,
while recognizing the existence of bodies such as ‘Meeting
of National Museums’ and ‘Museums of France’.
•The need to choose museums and follow their exhibitions
according to their themes, independent of their geographical
location.
•The possibility of making museums the central theme
of a holiday, travel or study
